Our dried organic Watermelons hold the entire solar energy of Uzbekistan.

Our watermelons, grown on our own certified organic plantations, Silk Road Organic Foods Organic Garden in the hot and cloudless summers of Uzbekistan are very fruity and intensively sweet organic watermelons. Our company, Marap is working together with our 100 % subsidiary company Silk Road Organic (organic) foods in Uzbekistan (Uzbekistan) since past many years. Uzbekistan lies in Central Asia, along the famous Silk Road. Silk Road Organic (organic) Food has its main processing site near Samarkand and specializes in the production of organic dried fruits and organic nuts. The production is yielded by environmental friendly solar dryers that do not damage the product. All this is regularly monitored by the ABG (Austrian Organic Guarantee) and is certified as per the EC Eco regulation (EU 834/2007) and NOP (Nation Organic Program).

Our melons are manually cultivated, harvested and sorted (handpicked). Melons grow on ground, on a plant growing to up to 10 meters. Strictly speaking, melons belong to the family Cucurbitaceae (vegetables). The fruits (berries) of our watermelons are 40 - 60 cm (long) and weigh up to 12 kg. The color of the outer shell of our organic watermelons are light green and striped green.

We harvest only when the flesh of our organic watermelon is red, juicy and its intense fruity aroma is completely distinctive. This is followed by a tedious but gentle manual work. First of all, the layer of skin is removed and then the melon is cut in approximately 10 cm long and 4 cm wide strips.

We use the same amount of solar energy twice: first for ripening our watermelons and then for the gentle drying in the sun (solar drying). Last but not the least our valuable, dried organic watermelons are disinfested in order to be sure that they are not infested by any insect.

It is automatically understandable, that our high-quality dried organic watermelons do not contain any additives, preservatives or dyes.
In order to guarantee that our melons are 100% free from pesticides, we have got our dried melons inspected by an independent accredited Austrian laboratory in batches.

We recommend our dried organic watermelon as a healthy vegetarian (vegan) raw food snack for munching in between. This fruity, sweet snack contains a readily available energy and only approximately 1 g of fat per 100 g.
Dried organic watermelons lend a natural sweet and fruity taste to cereals, desserts and cakes.

In our assortment, we also offer you dried organic sugar melons and dried organic Honey Dew melons. We have combined our three dried organic melons in a sweet organic dream of melons under our own brand of Pearls of Samarkand.

These Watermelons not only taste good but are also healthy because they have a total natural antioxidant capacity of 142 µmol per 100g (ORAC value).
